Which Salon Hair Product Brand Would You Recommend?

Matrix, Delorenzo, Tigi Bedhead, Wella SP, Joico, Redken, PPS, Delva, RPR, Biolage, Paul Mitchel, Goldwell, NAK, Biotouch, Juuce, etc. Anything i can get either in hairhouse warehouse or price attack. I have frizzy dry hair and i constantly keep getting split ends. I straighten my hair alot so i need something to repair the damage, smooth my hair down and make it shine.

When i just started straightening my hair it was so soft and shiny, so silky smooth! But now after constant straightening, it still goes straight but lacks that same shine and silkiness it used to have!Which Salon Hair Product Brand Would You Recommend?
Depending on the damage done to your hair I would use either Aveda's Damage Remedy, for REAL damaged hair, or just try TIGI's S Factor Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner.

I just started using S Factor and it has done woooonders to my hair! I have slightly coarse hair and it makes it feel sooo silky and soft.

You can also try a deep conditioning treatment weekly. Bed Head's Treat Me Right Peppermint Hair Mask is the greatest!

If you're wanting to save money, however, Pantene Pro-V's Anti Frizz Conditioner works really well.

As for the constant straightening, try Chi's Silk Infusion after blow drying/before straightening!Which Salon Hair Product Brand Would You Recommend?
I like Redken products. Best ones for your situation are deep conditioning and a heat protector which Redken sells. My personal faves of Redken are the Butter Treat Conditioner %26amp; Smooth down Fluid which you put on prior to straightening your hair

Salon hair product for super frizzy wavy/damaged hair??!?!?

My hair is super frizzy and wavy. I usually straighten it because my wavy hair doesn't look nice wavy it looks like a big frizzy mess. I've coloured it a few times, and I straighten it a lot.

I've tried a lot of drugstore products. (yes I've tried John Frieda serum.. which made my hair frizzier)

But I've always been working against my hair type, because I want straight hair. But if I can get my wavy hair to look nice and frizz free, then I'll be happy :)

So what salon product should I get for super frizzy wavy hair, that will define my waves and make them less frizzy?!?!

I'm thinking of buying these products so far:

-Joico K-PAK shampoo (for damaged hair)

-Joico K-PAK conditioner (for damaged hair)

-Joico K-PAK deep penetrating reconstructor

Thankyou so much if you could help :)Salon hair product for super frizzy wavy/damaged hair??!?!?
This may sound crazy.. but hear me out. I have really frizzy, curly hair. Do not brush your hair unless you are in the shower or b4 a shower. After you get out just use your fingers to run through your hair. Don't wash your hair every time you shower, its bad for your hair!! Also try putting vegetable oil on your hair for an hour or so before you shower or you can even sleep with it in and put a shower cap on and a towel on your pillow. But try for an hour first to see how well your hair takes the veg oil so it doesn't get too greasy. But of course wash it before you go anywhere =P.

After you get out of the shower use leave in conditioner then use mousse.

I hope this helps!! Curly and Wavy hair is really easy to deal with once you know how.. It took me forever to learn my hair but now I love it!!Salon hair product for super frizzy wavy/damaged hair??!?!?
Aveda ';BeCurly'; products. They're a little pricey, but 110% worth it. They're all natural, no chemicals, and work wonders. Plus they smell REALLY good. I have short, fine hair, and they work wonders for me. I've never tried the ';BeCurly'; line, for obvious reasons, but I hear good things. And the women (and men) at the Aveda salon I go to have WONDERFUL hair. :D http://www.aveda.com/templates/products2鈥?/a> that's a link to the Aveda site. Or you can google it. Good luck!!
I'm not too sure about shampoo but try Got2Be hottie conditioner. It's for damaged hair and it works great. Also use a good leave-in conditioner. I use one by Redken...can't remember exactly which, but ask a reputable stylist when you go shopping. They'll know what would be best for you.
Looks like ur waves are acting more like curls haha just wash ur hair with Pantene Curls shampoo and conditioner. When u get out of the shower put on some Biosilk silk therapy to tame some frizziness. Air dry so u won't get damage from the heat from a blowdryer. When your hair is still a little bit wet apply some Pantene Curls mousse. This mousse makes ur wavy/curly hair calmer and pretty well hope I helped :D
Bio-Silk is great on my hair. Also Infusion 23 leave in conditioner. Its not that expensive and it works great. Also try to use a heat activated protecter on your hair when you straighten it. It helps alot.
i have really frizzy hair and i use olive oil serum and that works.but you coould try to relax it,so itll be straight.trynot to straighten it that much anymore and get it trimmed regularly
there are those hot oil treatments and it definitely calms down the frizzes in my hair! and if your hair is damaged and dry then they are a good thing to look to.
My hair frizzes often!

I use the Herbal Essences shampoo.

It's the new stuff, the weird shaped bottles and pretty colors!

There is one for damaged hair!

Try it :)
the best product for this is brazilian keratin treatment try this site and check for your self
redken smooth down butter treatment!! It will work:D!
catwalk -curls rock or oatmeal and honey (its really good for damaged hair)

ive been using garnier fructis wonder waves and its really been helping my waves look nice and it cuts down the frizz.

this is what i do....

shampoo only the roots of my hair ( only 2 times a week depending on if your hair gets really oily or not)

condition it everytime you take a shower.. targeting the ends.

(never put conditioner on the roots of you hair)

leave that in for a while.. (shave your legs and wash your body while its in )

rinse the conditioner out with cool water.

atleast twice a month use a deep conditioner like Cholesterol* you can find it at sallys beauty or wal mart. its about $5 and it comes in a medium sized tub.

massage that into your ends at rap your hair in a towel or a cap.

leave in for about an hour then rinse.

try not to blow dry your hair! if you have to, do it on cool.

if your hair gets really frizzy while air drying, put it into two loose pigtail braids.

proclaim thermal spray is good for straightening hair. you can find that at sallys beauty suppy too.

goodluck!
to defrizz your hair you may need lots of different products....

you should get a leave in conditioner a hair serum that dosnt make your hair frizzier ... find one USE ONE hair defrizz spray and after you wash your hair wrap a towel that was soaked with hot water then wringed out and put around your hair for like 30 mins .

hope my advice helped .. try it out

P.S. you look a lot like someone i know named JEANNA ... just thot id sayy that even tho its random :P
hey i totally understand what you are talking about coz i had the same problem my hair is very dry and curly and i just hated it to the max and was never able to accept its nature, so i was like always straightening it and looking all over the internet for the best straightening products, but believe me nothing worked..my advice to you is to accept your hair and adore it, i started using herbal essences for hydration shampoo and conditioner (seperate not the 2 n 1) so you get a nicely hydrated hair after showering, after than is towel dry it for seconds (keep it wet) then app;y a curl keeper products ( i personally use the pantene oil replacement for definite curls and mix it with hair serum then apply generously to you hair, never comb just with your fingers try to separate the curls and turn your head over and scrunch the curls its amazing, let it dry normally or use a hair diffuser (i don't have it ) and you will get a great curl, nxt day you apply some drops of water and you will get those curls u lost while sleeping again

wish u the best
i have the same problem. my hair is black and its really smooth and shiny when i straighten it but when i dont its frizzy dry and rough. you need :

-biosilk therapy

- ApHOGEE Keratin %26amp; Green Tea Restructurizer

- Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Leave-in Treatment

i hope this helps b/c it sure helped me :)

oh and have u ever tried the JoJoBa hot oil treatment?

its great, first do this and then use all the other products

Blot your hair with a towel after showering as opposed to rubbing vigorously with the towel. Not sure if your hair is over-processed (permed or multiple color treatments) so I hesitate to suggest some products. However, a stylist once told me that too much moisture is actually bad for your hair (e.g., not drying your hair after showering and letting it air dry) and that heat from your hair dryer and curling iron can actually be good for your hair. He said hair was designed to protect your head from the heat of the sun and that too much water could weaken your hair. I know it's shocking and goes against everything I knew about hair care...but it's worth a try.

What are some good, quality salon hair products?

I have thin hair that seems to have a lot of static in it lately. It is pretty much straight, but the underneath part sometimes curls and frizzes slightly.

I have a gift certificate for a spa/salon in my area and I'm looking for ideas on good salon hair care products.

I would like something that can help smooth my hair (eliminate the static) and also something that could give it more volume.

Thanks! :)What are some good, quality salon hair products?
Tresemme and John Frieda are both high quality salon products. http://www.tresemme.com/sleek/index.aspx has some Tresemme products to prevent frizz and http://www.tresemme.com/volume/index.asp鈥?/a> has some Tresemme products to boost volume. http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/produ鈥?/a> are John Frieda frizz prevention products and http://www.johnfrieda.com/products/produ鈥?/a> are John Frieda volume products. Hope I helped! :)What are some good, quality salon hair products?
First of all - leave a lot of conditioner in your hair. It will weigh the frizzies slightly down while leaving a protective, smooth barrier. Ask your stylist what they think about that.

Get a frizz ease serum. Don't be afraid to saturate your hair in it.

And I use Garnier Fructis Volumizing Mousse. They won't have that cheap (but awesome) stuff at a salon, so just ask for a volumizing mousse.
You dont need to buy SALON PRODUCTS

Just look at the right items. Try Sunsilk Hairapy especially for your hair. It comes for the xondition of your hair and is super good quality.

And maybe you need conditioning treaments, WEEKLY. That's the only thing I would Recommend going to tha salon for.

G' Luck!
Paul Mitchell super skinny serum is good. You could also use redken shampoo and conditioner, it is really good, and they have all diff formulas to match your hair type and what you want it to do :) Hope i helped

  • Anyone else think expensive salon hair products aren't as good as the hairdresser says they are?

So i get my hair cut, and my hairdresser spins me some story about how wonderful their shampoos and conditioners are, so, being a sucker for beauty products, i buy them and some ';ends repair';.

After the first use, my hair feels dry, is frizzy as hell and the roots are all greasy. I keep using it, but my hair just stays frizzy and dry.

So two weeks later i just thought ';screw this'; and i went and bought some Pantene shampoo and conditioner, and after one use, my hair felt SO silky smooth and shiny.

I know, its because they ';coat your hair in wax';, or they have all these evil chemicals in them. But to be honest, i couldnt care less, they are cheaper and make my hair look and feel tons nicer!

Anyone else feel the same?Anyone else think expensive salon hair products aren't as good as the hairdresser says they are?
lmao I totally agree with you. Everytime I get my hair done my hairdresser brings out products that are gonna do miracles for my hair. I..like yourself, is a sucker for good marketing and beauty products. I'm always like...';OMG I WANT THAT!'; because it looks like my hair could be all like that.

Anyways I agree. You can find the best shampoos without spending the 30 bucks a bottle for a set. I love pantene pro V. And my hair was damaged from hilites and bleach because I went blonde..and I bought some damage repair thing from Pantene Pro V and my hair has never felt so smooth! the first time I used it I already felt the difference. My dead hair ends are like..gone! My hair feels much silkier and smoother when I'm using that over the hair salon brands they sucker us into buying.Anyone else think expensive salon hair products aren't as good as the hairdresser says they are?
I use Redken and TIGI salon products, and I love them.

But I also use a Marrakesh Oil from Earthly Body, and that adds a lot of moisture and silkiness to my hair. The Redken products (Shampoo, conditioners) add the body to my hair, TIGI products after washing de-frizz it and define my curls, then I use the Marrakesh.

I hate drugstore hair products by now...they just really don't work for my hair.
    Eh...I like one of the products my stylist suggested, and another one was from a beauty store...maybe your stylist is just lying and mine is more helpful and actually wants to find something good for me? Idk D;

    Salon Hair Products... Please Help.?

The ends of my hair are hard..

Please give me some shampoo/conditioner/styling/leave in conditioners and anything please.

Please give me what you think of these products alsoSalon Hair Products... Please Help.?
To start of, try using Pantine ProV for dry/damaged hair (the shampoo and conditioner). Get a haircut... well at least a trim to get rid off all your spilt ends. Maybe an inch or two. After that start using Herbal Essences leave in conditioner for split end protection/repair (red bottle). Make sure whenever you use hot tools such as flat irons... to use a heat protective! I like the Nexxus one best. And do not dye your hair more than once every six months. Also using to much product like hairspray, mouse and so on can damage and dry out your hair. Same goes with washing your hair to much. Wash it every-other day max. Hope I have Helped! E-mail me with any further questions.

I use both and I wondered the same thing. Here's a link to interesting article; see if it helps you.

http://www.life123.com/article_FullStory鈥?/a>Salon Hair Products or Drug-Store Hair Products ?
Samy hair care products for curly hair are awesome. they run from 4.99 for shampoo and conditioner a piece and 4.99 to 16.99 for hair care products. and you can find them in most drug stores. it's less expensive but it's just as good.
For a salon hair products try using Samy, it works really good for me and I have wavy hair %26amp; colored hair for a drug-store product try using pantene, dove, or garnier fructis.

Salon hair products vs/ walmart? ?

Is there really a difference between $20 shampoo, conditioner, and hairspray from a salon than like $3 stuff from walmart? If so what is the difference? Im trying to get my hair healthier so should i go with the more expensive products?Salon hair products vs/ walmart? ?
There is a huge difference! Salon quality products have better ingredients in them that are better for your hair. You should especially consider salon quality shampoo if your hair is color treated. Pert Plus can strip your hair color up to 3 shades!! Salon quality is basically the only way to go.

I recommend biolage and pureology and isoSalon hair products vs/ walmart? ?
well salon product are different because they use better and higher quality ingredients. However don't use salon products every time u wash your hair just use it every other time. as for the times u don't use salon products don't uses totally cheap ones ( no offense but suave it made my hair disgusting and i put lots of conditioner on it), use one like pantene or herbal essences
I used expensive stuff from the salon, it made my hair greasy and frizzy. Then I just decided to go cheap, and buy ';Suave biobasics';..It's better than any shampoo or conditioner i've ever tried..and that's saying a lot.
Salon products are more concentrated verses store products. Also the PH is usually higher in the salon products. I prefer store products, more bang for the buck and most do not irritate my scalp.
usually more expensive ones use more expensive ingredients...i wouldn't pay more than $10-15 for a shampoo. anything over that just seems dumb. they do usually work better and have nicer fragrances and lathers..
    Scientific ****.

I don't think it matters. My mom is a hairstylist and I've always used salon products. I recently switched to store bought. I see/feel no difference.
theres not much difference in result. salon products are only better because they dont coat hair as much as store bought do.

Cheapest store for salon hair products?

Salon hair products or supermarket ones?

which ones are better, i haven't used supermarket ones such as pantene or herbal essence for years and wondering if there better now and just as good as salon products. what do you think?Salon hair products or supermarket ones?
Keep using professional hair products. Supermarket products are not as concentrated. The ingredients in hair products are rated on a scale for quality. On a scale from one to ten, professional products are rated nine and above whereas supermarket products are rated well below these numbers. Make sure that you stay away from professional products that are not sold in a salon or beauty store. I know for a fact that these products are old and have lost their shelf like. They do not work as well but you usually pay the same price as if you were buying them in a salon. I know what I'm talking about. I have been in this business for a long long time.Salon hair products or supermarket ones?
Try to stay away from Pantene conditioners... they are full of wax which coats the hair and causes a lot of build up. I always laugh when I see commercials with Eva Longoria or Maria Menudos for Pantene cause you know they don't use that stuff! :)

I always say if you find a good budget shampoo - great! Head and Shoulders (not just for dry scalp!) seems to work for a lot of my girlfriends! And you can't go wrong with a baby shampoo - they're really gentle and won't over dry your locks!

Then really splurge on a good conditioner. 10-15 bucks should get you a product that you'll like - and to figure out what kind you need here's a quiz:

    http://www.lhj.com/lhj/matrixquiz.jhtml?鈥?/a>

    Hope that helps!
I believe it depends on the type of hair you have.
supermarket i used to allways use salon products pantene colour expressions is just as good also toni and gut products are very good go to boots chemist or boots.com 3 for 2 on most products

    Biolage

Salon hair products...do they work that much better than regular shampoo?

Yes they actually are. Salon products are thicker in texture cause they are more concentrated, which means you use less and more can soak into your hair than normal over the counter brands. I do use salon product but because of pricing I sometimes cannot afford them so I do buy over the counter in those instances, but I am extremely picky on which one I get. suave has come out with salon type product where they say they are comparable to redkin products and those are the ones I usually getSalon hair products...do they work that much better than regular shampoo?
well technically yes they are better then regular shampoo but I have found that by looking at the ingredients on the back of the bottle and finding a regular shampoo with those same ingredients works better and proberally cheaper. hope that helps.Salon hair products...do they work that much better than regular shampoo?
Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a ';little'; honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences ';clean happy'; conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

    Source: http://www.myspace.com/creaturemermaid..鈥?/a>
it depends if your hair has a problem... if you dye your hair than yes, if it needs moisturizing than yes also if its dry.
Don't bother wasting your money on a shampoo/condtioner that won't even work. Most people reccomend hair products from salon's. The ';cheap'; brands work as great as the ';expensive'; brand.
some are better than others. but most salons sell the products they use!! so check on that. or you can go to a beauty supply store and find they same products your stylist uses because thats where the buy their products from
Usually salon hair products are of a higher quality than one that you would pick up off the shelf.Salons are willing to pay more for quality to keep satisfied costumers.

There are shampoos that started in salons. Like Tresemme which is what i use because its affordable and a higher quality.
no actually they dont work much better.

there just the same, but there better.

as in theyre not better but like smell and volume put in and stuff like that lol

  • Are ingredients in salon hair products really all that different from those in drug store shelf products?

It is all dependent on the products used. The main difference is that the people in the salons are trained to apply it to your hair. Either way always do a skin test to make sure the product is right for you. But i use store shelf products as i find some expecially herbal essence really leave my hair looking niceAre ingredients in salon hair products really all that different from those in drug store shelf products?
Not necessarily. Some of the salon products have better ingredients and that is why they are more expensive, but this is not inclusive of all salon products. For an example, you may want to look at Kerastase and Loreal Intense and Smooth line. They both are from the same company, Loreal. The ingredients are also virtually the same, except Kerastase has a couple of more expensive plant derived ingredients and that is why it is more expensive. However, the performance is the same. Are ingredients in salon hair products really all that different from those in drug store shelf products?
No, and if she saw ';The Insider'; yesterday they actually had a couple of famous women up there that shop at drug and beauty supply stores for thier hair like Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, and Halle Berry!
not all. salons have to buy expensive name brand. I told my stylist what I use and she understands. I also use Biosilk. Most salons sells them but I try to search them down at the drug store 1st.
not really. some are a little stronger and different brands have different ingredients..but no they are not much different. the only thing is that you have to mix them yourself and the directions arent as easy.you have to buy the developer separately and if you buy the wrong type or the wrong level it can be a disaster. so there is much more room for error if you dont know what youre doing.
    Some of them are...

the ingredients used in drug store products are usually not the best for your hair.. some of them damage your hair each time you use it... im not saying ot go out and buy the most expensive brand.. but u have a better shot at the with the salon products than drug stores
i don't think so.we should depend on home remedies as much as we can, although it's not so possible in a busy city dweller's life.

Are the salon hair products really any better than the stuff you buy at the drug store?

If so why ?Are the salon hair products really any better than the stuff you buy at the drug store?
No matter what anyone on here says...they are really are NOT better. The ingredients are very very similar if not the same. Read the ingredient listings on the back of the pacakages. You'll see the similarities. The ingredients and the results are typically the same, based on which products you're comparing. Are the salon hair products really any better than the stuff you buy at the drug store?
They may cost more, but the quality is better. The ingredients are natural and tested.
Yes, they are. Theyre made by designers %26amp; people who know a lot more about hair than Loreal or other cheap drug store brands. Some drug store brands work, though, I'm not saying they dont, but I've been straightening my hair for 3 years %26amp; you know it didnt get to be healthy %26amp; smooth by using drugstore brands! I had to buy expensive salon products but at least my hair is extremely healthy %26amp; not damaged from all the heat I use with it.

\If the salon hair products are too expensive for you, I HIGHLY recommend Tresemme products. Occasionally I use their shampoos, conditoners, heat protectant sprays, %26amp; antifrizz sprays. They dont cost a lot at all, maybe 4-5 dollars per product, %26amp; they really do help your hair.
Personally, I like the Paul Mitchell stuff, seems to work better but its so expensive, so I buy the generic of it at Sallys....
Absolutely. These products use superior ingredients %26amp; formulas to target specific hair problems with great success %26amp; predictability. It's like comparing a pair of shoes from Payless Shoe Source versus Nine West. You must pay extra for a longer-lasting, higher-quality shoe. Drugstore haircare products do work well for some clients. For someone like me, I ONLY use professional products on my hair. I bleach %26amp; dye my hair several times per month %26amp; maintain beautiful, healthy hair.
I find better results when using salon products and also that they last longer. It isn't necessary to use as much. I guess because better ingredients are used to make these fine products.
YES! They put more organic stuff in there.

URGENT Reccommend me salon hair products?

I wanna pick up a good shampoo and conditioner (if necessary) for my hair but the last time i got recommended salon hair products, it made my hair fall out :(

I have slightly oily hair with normal ends I think. Lets say I wash my hair today in the afternoon and by the end of the day tomorrow my hair becomes slightly oily (its really noticeably) so I need something that will control the oiliness but not too harsh and it kills my ends as well. Any ideas? ThanksURGENT Reccommend me salon hair products?

try bedhead all there products are very good.
First of all, you need to be washing your hair every day when you bathe. You wash your body every day. You also need to be washing your hair every day.

The shampoo I recommend is Quantum shampoo. It can either be the one for daily use, or the clarifying shampoo. Quantum is a very affordable professional shampoo, but is gentle enough to use every day. I buy mine at Sally's Beauty Supply, but if you don't have that store in the area where you live you can go on-line to try to find somewhere near your house where you can buy it.

    Hope this helps.
Go to a hair dresser and have them pick it out for you!!

What expensive salon hair products are actually worth the extra bucks due to their quality?

I find that Redkin is definately worth the priceWhat expensive salon hair products are actually worth the extra bucks due to their quality?
    Hey there!

I really like Redkin as well! My personal fav is Bed Head. I love the quality of their products as well as the wonderful scents that every item has! Matrix has excellent shampoo but I am not as thrilled about their styling products!

Hope that helps!!!What expensive salon hair products are actually worth the extra bucks due to their quality?
I use pureology shampoo and conditioner. I bought the liters about a year ago and they are only half empty. You use a very small amount, and make sure that when you put them in, that your hair is really wet, enough so that it's saturated, almost dripping water but not quite. After you use the shampoo it feels like you've conditioned.
None. Its all crap. I tried Biosilk and I didnt like it and it was EXTREMELY expensive stuff for a small bottle. Redkin isnt bad but nothing that I have found doesnt do anything more for my hair than a good bottle from the grocery store would. Dont spend the extra money.
I think they're all worth it, I especially like Biosilk Silk Therapy :)

If mineral oil is so bad for your hair then why do some of the best salon hair products contain it?

I see this a lot in African American hair products, even some that salons use. And I heard that even shampooing the hair won't even take out this ingredient, is this true?If mineral oil is so bad for your hair then why do some of the best salon hair products contain it?
Alot of products contain it because it makes the hair shiny making you believe that it is moisturized and shiny. I heard on the internet that mineral oil is also used in car oil, but dont believe me, i dont if thats true or not. just something i heard. didnt u ask that question about using a little bit of a product? yeah i answered it. anyways, mineral oil retards hair growth because it clogs hair follicles, just like petroleum does. mineral oil is greasy and yucky, but it makes the hair shiny. One time i was going to the store to get some hair oil in a jar...i found some castor oil...and it was greasy and stiff...but it did make my hair shiny, until i looked what was in it. and the grease was very cheap, mineral oil and petroleum is cheap just like how sodium sulfate is. So I spent a little more on a different hair oil, it was carrot oil, and it didnt have all that bad stuff in it...and instead of being greasy it was more like a whipped cream, but it wasnt a cream, it was the samething as everything else except without all the bad stuff. it moisturized my hair, but it didnt not have the same effect as it did with the products that had mineral oil and petroleum in it.

    I hope that explains it.

oh btw, almost ALL african american hair products have it, because it makes their hair shiny and thats what african amerian women want. so i dont use african hair products for just that reason. If mineral oil is so bad for your hair then why do some of the best salon hair products contain it?
Your hair always has some amount of oil in it, and if you wash your hair alot or if you dye it or straighten it alot some sqalons will use it to put healthy amounts of oil back in it. You always want some in there, or your hair will die
i don't think it's really bad for you maybe it depends on the person or the person's hair who knows i do know however that tea tree oil is very good for your hair!

Can't afford salon hair products. Any advice as to best drugstore hair products for colored hair?

Are salon hair products better than store bought?

I have two stylists and one says store hair care products are cheap and coat your hair with wax and you can only but salon while the other says store bought is just as good if they're geared for your hair, which is it?Are salon hair products better than store bought?
yes, from what i know it does. epically when you want to color your hair. the pro stuff doesn't have some horrible metalics that are even more harmful to you. but its always up to you and you can make your own decisions. but it is expensive that's the only thing that's not cool. Are salon hair products better than store bought?
When I was in beauty school, one of my teachers always told us not, to use the store products because they coat your hair with wax, and she's been doing hair for over 50 years so I trust what she says. I use salon products and every now and then I might buy something at the grocery store and I can always tell a difference. My hair just seems so much nicer when I use the salon products vs. the grocery store ones.
    Honestly?

Salon products are better, but they aren't the only option. Besides, if you take really good care of your hair, and put alot of effort into it, it can look just as good.

My opinion, when shopping for shampoos/conditioners or other styling products, look at the ingredients on the backs of the bottles, and compare to one another. Believe it or not, most of them have the same things in them. Brand name or Generic.

How does Target sell salon hair products when they aren't a salon?

I always read that salon products can only be sold in a salon. If it's not a salon, then the product may not be athentic. Target sells Paul Mitchell, Graham Webb, Biologe, Farouk and many others. Are they real? How does Target sell salon hair products when they aren't a salon?
they should be authentic... i don't see why they wouldn't be, not all salons sell all kinds of products anyway, most of the time u would have to go to a hair supply store to get professional products. How does Target sell salon hair products when they aren't a salon?
They are Authenthic, but they have a different chemical Makeup, Most hair Supply stores don;t sell Nexxus anymore being that they went to Mass Retail, if you look at the bottles in the Super Markets you'll they no longer say for Professional Use. it's best to look for Hair Supply stores that still carry the Line and the bottle should say For Professional Use.
Many of those products sold in places such as Target and CVS are counterfeit and produced overseas. TIGI actually sued and won a lawsuit over this situation. Those counterfeit products were tested and found to have very high bacterial levels. Often other products are sold to these retail stores because salons go out of business and most times are more expensive than actually buying them from a licensed salon. Be very careful. Why would you take the chance?
The haircare products companies have entered into a contract with Target to sell their products.
No way? You never asked them about the salon? For $150 you get a salon membership and get to go back to the salon and enjoy personal service. Ask any Target associate for the ';GOLD'; room. After a strick screening of your financials and status check you will get to use the ';SALON'; ou la la... and it's pronounced Ta`r Zae Guold SA laan.
that is a good question they probally have to pay something to be able to sell those products
all retail stores sell salon products even groceries stores. They're not supposed to because it takes money out of salon owners pockets. the product could be out dated and professional products are only guaranteed when purchased in the salon or beauty supply store.

  • How does AG shampoo & conditioner compare to Joico or other salon hair products?

I thought it smelled wonderful but I wanted to know what other people thought of it. My hair is colored and VERY thick-frizzy.

Do you think it's better than Joico or Paul Mitchell? How does AG shampoo %26amp; conditioner compare to Joico or other salon hair products?
I think they compare rather well actually. I really like AG products, especially Ultramoist conditioner =)

But they are lacking in protein, which Joico has, so i would rotate them and use both.

What are the best Salon hair products to buy?

If I were to go to Sally's Beauty Supply (for example), will I be able to buy Salon products or do they only sale these to certified beauticians? Paul Mitchell products .

    Bed head products .

    Tigi .

    SEBASTIAN SHAPER .

    Biosilk .

Redken .What are the best Salon hair products to buy?
You do not have to be a certified beautician to purchase items at Sally's Beauty Supply. It is open to the general public. You can ask the sales associate there to recommend products. They are usually pretty informative and knowledgeable.
you can go into any store and buy stuff, hair stuff, as a person, not a beautician

i bought my chi at the beauty supply outlet,

    cheaper too!

What is so special about salon hair products?

I just got a new hair style and want to take it to the next level, can anybody tell me what is so special about these expensive shampoos? and maybe recommend some good ones? What is so special about salon hair products?
just try tresemme, its salon brand, but you don't have to go to a hair place to get it, and its soooo much cheaper heres a link

http://www.tresemme.com/classic-care/ind鈥?/a> i'm not sure which of the shampoos you would want, so just pick one, haha. anyway use tresemme, its used by professionals. lolWhat is so special about salon hair products?
my mom does hair for a living and she always says that the expensive shampoos do not work as well as the cheaper ones are the ones you can purchase at a store such as walmart and target.....so i would not spend any money on expensive shampoos because belive it are not they can actually damage your hair sometime because they have extra chemicals...also my hair is very fine and i find that the expensive shampoos just make it frizzy and greasy! so i hope this helps! good luck!
Professional Shampoos are more concentrated so you don't use so much. They do ';usually'; what they say they will. The cheaper shampoos like drugstore shampoos they usually will strip your hair or clog your pores! Sometimes they make your hair fall out. I have had that experience with a couple of drugstore shampoos! I Really like Tigi Bed Head Rock star Shampoo it's for super thick hair and it smells really really really great! Any of the Bed Head line is really good they also have a Shampoo called Brunette Goddess it is really good and smells awesome! It is for Brunette hair it adds shine and keeps the color longer! They have one called Dumb Blonde for Blondes...of course. Moisture Maniac for added moisture. Head Shots helps with damaged hair. I do really like Bed Head each one is for different hair just read on the bottle or ask a professional which one would be best for your hair!

    Hope this helps!!

well at first when i tried biolage, my hair was frizzy, but when i got used to it, it looks fine. try infusium, it's a great line. i don't know why people say expensive=better. i tried biolage and biosilk, and personally, i think infusium and pantene works better [u can buy both at walmart] . .
The quality is greater in salon shampoos. Bed Head Is probably the best for styling, But biolage is good for making hair healthy looking.

What are your thoughts on Salon hair products?

I personally think that it is worth the money. But I have noticed that sooooo many people use cheap brands. When I try cheap shampoos and conditioners my hair is HORRIBLE!What are your thoughts on Salon hair products?
Definately worth the money. Just like the phrase ';you only get out what you put in'; it's the same with products and tools as well. Take a look at Rene Furterer products. The ';Rene'; line uses all natural plant extracts and believes that healthy hair starts at the scalp. Take a look:
